About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement classroom instruction specifically within the strength training discipline
- Manage all aspects of individual teaching assignments, including the creation and use of syllabi
- Evaluate student performance and provide documented, timely feedback on assignments, quizzes, and tests
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall class performance
- Develop written assignments tailored to student knowledge bases and individual learning needs
- Keep the Director of Wellness Operations informed regarding student and departmental concerns
- Participate in part-time faculty orientation prior to the start of the semester
Requirements
- Master’s degree in exercise science, health education, physical education, recreation, or a related field
- 3–5 years of related professional experience
- Current certification from a recognized wellness or fitness organization (ACE, NASM, or ACSM)
- Valid CPR and first aid certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the ability to generate spreadsheets, graphs, and PowerPoint presentations
- Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff
