Welding QC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and review construction documents for welding compliance
• Monitor all phases of welding works, including design, procurement, construction, and final handover
• Manage the inspection and testing of welding works and supervise QC Inspectors
• Witness, review, and approve welder qualifications, WPS, and PQR qualifications
• Coordinate with third-party testing and inspection companies
• Perform statistical analysis and evaluation of welding test data
• Identify and resolve non-conformances, raising reports and monitoring corrective actions
• Assist the QC Manager with periodic audits of subcontractors and suppliers
• Attend and witness client verifications of work on-site

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering with a Master's Degree in Welding
• At least 12 years of related experience in Oil & Gas projects (ADNOC experience is an advantage)
• Professional certification in welding engineering (IWE or CWE)
• ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT, and PT
• Certified ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor preferred)
• CSWIP 3.1 certification required (3.2 preferred)
• Deep knowledge of ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ISO 13847, and SHELL DEP
• Strong understanding of welding defect identification, root cause analysis, and control measures
