About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect completed welds and critical components on emergency vehicles to ensure high-quality standards
- Perform visual weld inspections and dye penetrant testing
- Conduct electrical load and function testing, including final electrical sign-offs
- Report necessary repairs, corrections, and design deficiencies
- Perform road and function testing of emergency vehicles
- Maintain production tracking boards and enter defect data into the computer system
- Ensure compliance with hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures
Requirements
- Level II welding inspection certification
- One year of experience in visual and dye penetrant welding inspections
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics
- Knowledge of basic 12-volt electricity
- General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
- Ability to use measuring devices and read tape measures
- Ability to pass eye and color blindness tests
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with assembly hand tools
- Previous experience in a customer service environment
- Ability to train new electrical inspectors
