About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage welding philosophy, procedures, and quality control from the bid phase through project completion
  • Prepare and issue preliminary welding documents, including WPS, WPQR, and welding books
  • Review client specifications, scopes of work, and pipe metallurgy to develop detailed welding procedures
  • Coordinate the qualification of welding procedures and welders, including scheduling personnel and systems
  • Review subcontractor tender documents, technical qualifications, and welding submissions
  • Monitor welding quality by analyzing defect rate trends and proposing corrective actions
  • Manage welding consumables by evaluating quantities, preparing purchase requests, and monitoring consumption
  • Maintain updated project welding files and databases to ensure traceability and data availability
  • Support the QHSE department with subcontractor assessments and audits

Requirements

  • Fluency in the English language
  • Strong knowledge of welding procedures and technical specifications
  • Proven experience with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and WPQR (Welding Procedure Qualification Records)
  • Solid understanding of metallurgy
  • Ability to review and interpret complex technical documentation
