Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and control of welding processes, procedures, and standards to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain critical welding documentation, including WPS, PQR, and WQR.
• Monitor weld quality and track welder performance and competency.
• Assist in the development of welding procedures and support welder qualification (WQT).
• Coordinate with QA/QC and NDT teams to ensure adherence to international codes.
• Support training, audit activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Welding Engineer.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
• Familiarity with NDT methods such as RT, UT, PT, and MT.
• Working knowledge of international codes and standards including ASME, AWS, ISO, and API.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CSWIP, AWS, IWE, or IWT.
• Experience with welding management systems (e.g., Weld Eye).
• Applied knowledge of welding activities for carbon steel, stainless steel, and high/low alloy steels.
