Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set, supervise, and carry out all activities related to pipeline welding at the site.
• Select welders based on material construction requirements and monitor their performance.
• Coordinate with NDT teams, welding inspection teams, and Client QC.
• Manage the welding team, including foremen, welders, and helpers, to ensure daily productivity, safety, and quality.
• Ensure the availability of necessary resources, including welding teams, machines, and consumables.
• Maintain compliance with welding procedures, project specifications, and applicable construction codes.
• Assess the welding work environment and provide requirements for equipment, personal protection, and HSE.
• Manage the qualification of welders and welding procedures in accordance with Pipeline Construction Codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
• Master's degree in Welding or an International Welding Engineer Diploma (IWE, CWE, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 12 years of experience as a welding engineer within Oil & Gas, Piping, or Pipeline project environments.
• Technical experience in pipeline welding processes, specifically GTAW and SMAW, for Carbon Steel and CRA (Inconel 625).
• Working knowledge of pipeline welding codes: API 1104, DNV-OS-F101, ISO 13623, ASME Sec IX, ISO 9606, and ISO 15614-1.
• NDT Level II certification in RT, UT, MT, and PT.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings, WPS, PQR, WQT, and ITP.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proven ability to proactively identify and communicate risks to project schedules, deliverables, and costs, including providing mitigation plans.
