Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set, supervise, and carry out pipeline welding activities at the site
• Select welders based on material requirements and monitor their performance
• Coordinate with NDT teams, welding inspection teams, and Client QC
• Manage the welding team, including foremen, welders, and helpers, to ensure productivity, safety, and quality
• Ensure availability of resources such as welding teams, machines, and consumables
• Qualify welders and welding procedures in accordance with Pipeline Construction Codes
• Assess the welding work environment and provide necessary equipment, PPE, and HSE requirements
• Read, understand, and implement WPS and ITP for pipeline projects
• Identify and communicate risks to project schedules, deliverables, and costs, providing mitigation plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Mechanical, or a relevant field)
• International Welding Engineer Diploma (IWT / IWE from IIW or EWF)
• Minimum 5 years of significant experience as a welding engineer in Oil & Gas, Piping, or Pipeline Fabrication
• Technical experience in pipeline welding processes, specifically GTAW and SMAW, for CS and CRA (Inconel 625) materials
• Working knowledge of pipeline welding codes: API 1104, DNV-OS-F101, ISO 13623, ASME Sec IX, ISO 9606, and ISO 15614-1
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
