Welder

Responsibilities

• Provide welding, cellulose (mild steel), and low hydrogen support for structural and high-pressure piping systems
• Participate in pre-job planning, staging of equipment, and preparation of documentation
• Coordinate work activities and oversee third-party contractors
• Weld branch connections on high-pressure natural gas pipelines for hot-tap work
• Perform shop fabrication welding of piping assemblies and hydro testing
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews and creation
• Support emergency pipeline repairs for both natural gas and oil systems
• Ensure compliance with company operating procedures and safety/environmental policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience in pipeline construction or a related field
• Experience welding on high-pressure natural gas and/or oil pipeline systems
• Knowledge of API 1104 welding regulations
• Ability to pass an API 1104 welding test prior to hiring
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
• Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work overtime as required
• Willingness to reside within a one-hour commuting distance of the St Albans, WV shop

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field or a welding certificate
• Knowledge of TD Williamson tapping equipment
• Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) or similar software
