About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate MIG welders and other manufacturing processes as needed
- Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent material distortion
- Examine work pieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications
- Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to plan operations
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
- Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year verifiable welding experience or Technical Diploma
- Experience with MIG welding steel
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Ability to perform standard shop computations
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
