Welder II

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding operations using modification and welding techniques (minimum AWS 1G-6G levels)
• Execute welding according to blueprints, company standards, and AWS standards to meet NFPA requirements and third-party inspection criteria
• Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, burn through, and weld spatter
• Utilize various hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools for grinding and cleaning work areas
• Maintain welding equipment through TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and perform basic mechanical adjustments
• Adhere to all hazardous waste disposal programs and fire prevention procedures

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional welding experience (Level II requirement)
• Ability to pass welding certification tests in AWS material sections D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting weld symbols, and using a tape measure for precise measurements
• Demonstrated ability to perform an uphill weld
• Proven experience setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding machines
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in non-temperature-controlled environments
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, and working with arms above head
