Welder I

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding procedures on aluminum and stainless steel
• Set up and maintain welding machines, including managing tips, liners, and fittings
• Inspect welds for quality, checking for cracks, burn-through, and weld spatter
• Grind and clean work areas as required to ensure high-quality finishes
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to layout and fabricate parts
• Follow hazardous waste disposal programs and fire prevention procedures
• Maintain equipment through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and basic mechanical adjustments

Requirements

• Proficiency in GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and perform shop math
• Proficiency using a tape measure for precise measurements
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
• Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, and working with arms above the head

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or GED
