Welder I

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding operations using modification and welding techniques (minimum AWS 1G/2G/3G/4G/5G/6G level)
• Execute welding according to blueprints, company standards, and AWS standards to meet NFPA requirements and third-party inspection criteria
• Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, burn through, and weld spatter
• Use various hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools to grind and clean work areas
• Maintain equipment through TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and perform basic mechanical adjustments
• Adhere to hazardous waste disposal programs and fire prevention procedures

Requirements

• 1-3 years of welding experience (Level I)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements
• Proficiency in setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding machines
• Ability to pass required AWS certification tests in material sections D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1
• Ability to perform uphill welds
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in non-temperature-controlled environments
• Successful completion of drug and background screening
