About the role

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and perform shop math to layout, fabricate, and weld various parts and assemblies
  • Perform MIG and STICK (SMAW) welding on multiple types of metals in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions
  • Focus heavily on MIG welding aluminum for ambulance manufacturing
  • Use grinders, sanders, rivet guns, saws, and other air tools to complete fabrication tasks
  • Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, burn through, weld spatter, lack of fusion, and craters
  • Maintain a safe work environment and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment
  • Follow verbal and written directions in English to ensure production quality

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in welding using MIG or TIG welding machines
  • Ability to pass and maintain in-house AWS Welder Certification
  • General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to work in high-heat environments (up to 105 degrees) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing
