Welder I

Responsibilities

• Weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment
• Perform tack welding using MIG welding techniques
• Correctly and efficiently flange pipe and build/stuff wall fittings
• Set up welding equipment according to specific technical requirements
• Select correct shielding gases and attach them to welding guns
• Read tags and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and operating instructions
• Maintain equipment by correctly changing leads and liners

Requirements

• Experience with MIG welding, flame-cutting, and hand welding
• Ability to use and read a tape measure accurately
• Proficiency in flanging pipe
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimals
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100-200 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise and moving mechanical parts

Preferred Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent
• 0 to 2 years of previous factory or manufacturing experience
• Basic computer skills
