Welder

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair metal parts and materials
• Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders to complete tasks
• Lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rules, squares, scribes, or templates
• Use measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces into jigs, holding fixtures, and guides
• Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to technical specifications
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures within shipyards and drydocks
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including high heat and cold temperatures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of related welding or fabrication experience
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain DBIDS and access all necessary shipyards
