Welder

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair metal parts.
• Work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders to complete tasks.
• Lay out and mark points on parts or subassemblies using rules, squares, scribes, or templates.
• Use measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces into jigs, holding fixtures, and guides.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to technical specifications.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures in shipyard and drydock environments.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including high heat and cold temperatures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of related welding experience.
• US Citizenship is required.
• MIG/GMAW Aluminum certification.
• Flux core FCAW certification for carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Stick weld SMAW certification for carbon steel and stainless steel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TIG (GTAW) on all metals.
• Experience with CUNI and copper/face feed.
• Certification in Brazing.
