Welder

Responsibilities

• Use hand-welding or flame cutting equipment to join metal components or fill holes, indentations, or seams.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts.
• Remove rough spots from work pieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers, power chippers, or arc-cutting equipment.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using processes such as GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, or SAW.
• Comply with all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

• 1 to 5+ years of pipe welding experience (level determined by expertise and rejection rate).
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, or SAW).
• Knowledge of blueprints, technical plans, models, and drawings.
• Ability to use hand-welding or flame cutting equipment.
• General knowledge of machines, designs, repair, and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
