Welder

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding processes on structural steel including columns, rafters, pipe, and beams
• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed, travel, and gas flow
• Read blueprints and tape measures to shop standards
• Perform repairs for pin holes and burn through
• Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment
• Maintain quality by holding beads to specified shape, size, and penetration
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of one year of production welding experience or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certifications
• Proficiency with basic measuring instruments and general mathematics
• Comfort using power hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with forklift operation
• Experience with overhead crane operation
