Welder

Responsibilities

• Weld and inspect large metallic structures and tooling within specified timelines and budgets
• Set up welding processes, including determining correct equipment and methods based on requirements
• Read and analyze drawings and take detailed measurements to plan project layouts
• Cut and join material using hand welding or semi-automated welding in vertical, flat, and overhead positions
• Provide manufacturability feedback to design engineers regarding weld geometries and material selection
• Perform welding equipment qualification trials and troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies
• Follow all safety procedures to mitigate industrial hazards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a welder on large structural systems and tooling
• Documented training or certification in GMAW, GTAW, or SMAW
• Experience welding stainless steel
• Experience using the GTAW process to weld copper
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical activities such as stooping and standing for extended periods
• Willingness to work a second-shift weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in welding for pressure vessel, aerospace, or nuclear applications
• Experience with Electron Beam and Laser Welding
• Experience operating mechanized or automated welding equipment
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
