Welder

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components together using electric wire feed welding equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and work orders
• Maintain precise angular, dimensional, and spatial relationships through careful use of fixtures, positioning, and clamping
• Vary amperage and voltage to ensure high-quality welds at maximum linear speed
• Perform welding in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
• Clean or degrease weld joints using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths
• Obtain necessary welding fixtures and positioners from storage based on part or tool numbers
• May use an oxy/acetylene torch to cut metal plates or structural shapes
• Work from orders, route sheets, and direction from supervisors, with occasional overtime or Saturday operations required

Requirements

• 1 year of manufacturing experience and/or a certificate/degree in welding (or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience with electric wire feed welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
