Welder

Responsibilities

• Perform welding jobs using electric, acetylene, and/or arc-air equipment to repair machinery and equipment
• Identify and select necessary metals, electrodes, and mechanical equipment for specific tasks
• Execute pipefitting work, steel structural work, and maintenance modifications
• Perform emergency repairs throughout the plant and quarry as needed
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, sketches, and drawings
• Use precision instruments, hand tools, and gauges to ensure accurate work
• Inspect equipment for malfunctions and perform necessary repairs to welding tools
• Lead repairman welders and coordinate work with other maintenance personnel
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure good housekeeping in work areas

Requirements

• 3 years of professional welding experience
• 3 years of industry-related experience
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, reports, and blueprints in English
• Strong mathematical proficiency, including fractions and metric/decimal conversions
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move 75+ pounds frequently
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform heavy physical labor
