Welder

Responsibilities

• Weld components in horizontal and flat positions using welding guns, cutting torches, and carbon arc tools.
• Interpret metric drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) to set up fixtures and tack components.
• Operate CNC machining equipment and robotic equipment, including CNC burning machines, plate rolls, and press brakes.
• Use measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for quality using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Maintain a safety-first mindset to prevent injuries, occupational illnesses, and safety incidents.
• Utilize hand tools, grinders, and deburring tools to prepare and finish machine surfaces.

Requirements

• Welding experience or currently completing a welding trade/technical degree.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Ability to complete and pass an American Weld Society (AWS) D.1.1 certification onsite as part of the pre-hire process.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule (Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience at Caterpillar Paving.
• Experience operating heavy crane equipment.
• Prior experience operating CNC machines and robotic equipment.
• Proficiency with basic fabrication hand tools and measuring devices.
• Understanding of the metric measurement system and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
