About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality assembly of metal products using Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG, and Submerged Arc processes
- Perform complex layout and fit-up tasks utilizing fixtures, positioners, and jigs to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Produce structurally sound, smooth, and non-porous welds with consistent penetration
- Conduct various brazing functions across all materials, including manual grinding and forming
- Optimize production output by maintaining an efficient workflow and adhering to assembly procedures
- Operate equipment safely, report hazards, and maintain an organized workspace
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial welding (Pulsed MIG, Short-Arc MIG, or Submerged Arc)
- Ability to pass an onsite 6G certification weld test
- Ability to pass onsite training for Overhead Crane Operation
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in awkward positions (kneeling, lying down, or overhead)
- Ability to work 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior ASME Certification
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and cut lists
- Proficiency with plasma cutters, acetylene torches, and various power tools
- Strong shop math skills, including fractions and angles
- Experience with vertical, flat, and overhead welds
