Welder 4

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level welding tasks including fabrication, repair, and maintenance of metal tools, equipment, machinery, and structural components.
• Select correct current ratings, electrode sizes, and types applicable to specific tasks.
• Tack weld materials in place and complete welds according to technical specifications.
• Operate hand-held flame cutting torches to cut, heat, or wash away steel.
• Read and interpret construction or welding blueprints and sketches to make material and time estimates.
• Maintain accurate records of shop activities, consumable usage, and expenditures in job cards.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and adhere to all workshop safety protocols and equipment usage.

Requirements

• ITI Welder, ITI Mechanical, or Undergraduate degree.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in welding processes.
• Proven experience in the Crane Manufacturing or Engineering industry (specifically involving heat exchangers, boilers, or pressure vessels).
• FCAW qualification.
• Welder qualification as per AWS D1.1.
• Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Proficiency with oxygen-acetylene, heli-arc, and/or electric arc-welding equipment.
