Welder 1

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and parts for welding according to specific technical requirements
• Set up and operate equipment to cut, stamp, bend, and form metal parts
• Perform manual welding operations using Mig, Tig, Plasma, and spot welders
• Utilize CNC plasma cutters and other electronically controlled welding equipment
• Test completed products for reliability, completeness, and quality standards
• Clean, grind, and finish welds as necessary to meet manufacturing standards
• Perform preventative maintenance on welding and preparation equipment

Requirements

• Basic math skills and the ability to read and comprehend measurements
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
• Strong multi-tasking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Two-year degree, Technical Certificate, or 1-3 years of related experience
• 0-3 years of welding experience in a light industrial or manufacturing environment
• Basic understanding of various welding techniques
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer systems
• Willingness to work overtime when required
