Weld Technician

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain welding applications using Panasonic, Fanuc, ABB, and Nachi robotic welding systems
• Manage PLC backups for welding equipment using Allen Bradley or Omron
• Modify weld schedules and setup parameters for MIG, Spot, and Projection welding applications
• Adjust weld fixtures to ensure component positioning meets drawing specifications
• Develop and maintain weld schedules, setup/changeover instructions, and operator manuals
• Implement Poke Yoke systems and continuous improvement projects to increase plant efficiency
• Support production and maintenance teams in troubleshooting and repairing welding equipment
• Participate in 8D discipline reports and update Welding PFMEA for various products
• Validate and maintain records of welding control parameters and support plant quality systems

Requirements

• Community College Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology, Certified Weld Technician, or 4 years of welding manufacturing experience
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley or Omron)
• Knowledge of ISO 14000 and ISO TS 16949 systems
• Experience with welding standards and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
