Weld Shop Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage shop floor and shipping scheduling activities under supervisor direction
• Assist with production scheduling to ensure timely loading and shipping
• Coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and meet inventory requirements
• Communicate line problems, parts shortages, and engineering issues to management
• Maintain daily communication with team members and management
• Implement quality and productivity improvements through continuous improvement projects
• Assist with HR functions including hiring, retention, and performance reviews
• Focus on labor cost reduction and maximizing efficiency
• Balance safety, quality, productivity, and employee morale

Requirements

• High school GED or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years recent manufacturing experience
• Thorough knowledge of team processes
• Proficiency in a specific area of discipline
• Ability to work under moderate supervision
• Adherence to all company safety policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Production planning background
• Exposure to 5S and Rapid Improvement programs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
