Weld Out Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental guidelines, and industry quality assurance codes and standards
• Record and document all test results, inspection data, and quality assurance activities
• Use measuring instruments like calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify product dimensions against specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and data to determine inspection procedures
• Provide input on the acceptance or rejection of products and recommend necessary corrective actions
• Communicate significant quality issues to management and suggest process improvements
• Maintain, calibrate, and repair measuring instruments and test equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college, or 1-2 years of related experience and training
• 2-3 years of related experience in a fabrication or inspection environment
• AWS-CWI/SCWI 3.1/3.2 certification
• ASNT VT Level II/III certification
• Proficiency with measuring instruments and the ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
