Weld Out Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Inspect weld joints for defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercut.
• Record and document all test results, welding inspections, and quality assurance data.
• Measure product dimensions using instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and data to determine inspection procedures and requirements.
• Provide input on the acceptance or rejection of products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate measuring instruments and test equipment.
• Communicate significant quality issues or process improvement recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years of related experience/training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 2-3 years of related experience in welding inspection.
• AWS-CWI/SCWI 3.1/3.2 certification.
• ASNT VT Level II/III certification.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical manuals.
• Strong ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
