About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams on troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives
  • Assist with welding process development, testing, and continuous improvement projects for production
  • Support the preparation of welding procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation
  • Assist in weld inspections, testing, and documentation activities
  • Help collect and analyze production and quality data to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Support compliance with applicable welding standards such as ASME and NAVSEA
  • Participate in investigations related to weld quality, process optimization, and corrective actions
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements within the manufacturing environment

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering
  • Must be entering Sophomore or Junior year of study
  • Basic understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing principles
  • Hands-on experience with welding processes such as GTAW and GMAW
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Experience with Solid Modeling and 3D design
