Weekend Program Staff Nurse

Responsibilities

• Utilize assessment skills to provide comprehensive care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Implement nursing actions based on scheduled surgeries, patient assessments, and developmental needs
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety
• Document all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge in accordance with hospital policies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary health team members to provide holistic patient care
• Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement data analysis, and weekly scheduled in-services
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Director or designee
• Support unit goals, staff retention, and a positive work climate

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN degree or higher is preferred
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to work onsite in the Hyde Park/Chicago area

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a trauma setting
• One or more years of surgical scrub experience
