About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
- Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production, especially during weekend shifts.
- Plan, gather, and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
- Work with or without a photographer to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound.
- Contribute regularly to digital and social media platforms.
- Develop a network of sources to provide tips and break significant stories.
- Engage with the community through public event appearances.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of reporting experience.
- Past anchor experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record and ability to drive large vehicles.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and overnights.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate mobile transmission devices and use modern newsroom technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to enterprise and uncover impactful, exclusive stories.
