Weekend Anchor Reporter

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
• Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production, especially during weekend shifts.
• Plan, gather, and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
• Work with or without a photographer to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound.
• Contribute regularly to digital and social media platforms.
• Develop a network of sources to provide tips and break significant stories.
• Engage with the community through public event appearances.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of reporting experience.
• Past anchor experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record and ability to drive large vehicles.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and overnights.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate mobile transmission devices and use modern newsroom technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to enterprise and uncover impactful, exclusive stories.
