Weekend Anchor Reporter

Responsibilities

• Anchor weekend morning newscasts on linear TV and streaming platforms
• Report on local stories from the field and deliver live reports
• Write original copy, digital scripts, and perform copy editing
• Create engaging content for social media to drive audience engagement
• Act as a fill-in anchor for weekday newscasts as needed
• Develop community contacts and sources to pitch original enterprise stories

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a top 50 market
• Bachelor's degree required
• Excellent writing skills with solid news judgment and ethical decision-making
• Proficiency in shooting video and editing stories using non-linear desktop platforms
• Experience operating handheld prosumer/consumer digital cameras
• Superior on-camera presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Journalism or Communications degree
• Bilingual skills
• Deep knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area
