WEC Field Officer

Responsibilities

• Deliver CBRN briefings and awareness sessions to ICRC staff and partner organizations regarding risks and safety measures
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including contingency plans, SOPs, and training materials
• Support the implementation of CBRN projects and monitor the distribution of related equipment to beneficiaries
• Conduct hazard identification activities and participate in risk assessments for CBRN and HAZMAT incidents
• Perform surveys, collect operational data, and maintain detailed records of WeC/CBRN activities
• Liaise with emergency services, response units, and relevant authorities on technical preparedness and response
• Provide translation and interpretation support during technical meetings and operational activities
• Coordinate with internal departments such as Health, Protection, and Security to support reporting and operational tasks

Requirements

• Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
• University degree or technical college diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of overall professional experience
• At least 2 years of direct work experience in Weapon Contamination (WeC), mine action, or a similar field
• Professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Ukrainian
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in teaching, presentation, or pedagogics
• Previous experience with the ICRC or other humanitarian organizations
• Strong familiarity with humanitarian principles and operational contexts
