Weather Presenter/MMJ

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, compelling, and understandable weather forecasts to viewers
• Provide urgent weather information and coverage during severe weather events
• Produce and deliver content across both television and digital platforms
• Deploy into the field to gather information and report live during weather events
• Plan, gather, and assemble news stories and special project assignments
• Work as a multimedia journalist to gather and edit video and sound without a photographer
• Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop unique enterprise angles
• Develop a network of sources to break significant news stories
• Contribute real-time pictures, video, and text updates to mobile platforms
• Maintain unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards under tight deadlines

Requirements

• Professional or schooling on-air experience handling breaking news and severe weather
• In-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting
• Experience interpreting and translating high-powered radar data
• Proficiency with common television weather systems
• Ability to write clear, correct, and compelling broadcast copy
• Experience operating mobile transmission devices and latest news technology
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle high-pressure environments
• Valid driver's license and a clear driving record
• A demo reel is required for consideration

Preferred Qualifications

• NWA and CBM seals
• Bilingual skills
• Related military experience
