Weapon System Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work with a scrum team to design and develop new external system interfaces, including optical sights, surface radars, and navigational systems
• Use Java and C++ to modify, modernize, or refactor existing code to improve system performance
• Implement improvements to support software maintainability across baselines
• Support the development, test, integration, and deployment of in-service naval surface weapon systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of software engineering experience, or a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the AEGIS combat system or related elements
• Familiarity with USN CONOPS
• Familiarity with the Ada programming language
