About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing weapon contamination activities and monitoring progress
  • Contribute to assessing and analyzing the security, socio-economic, and political environment
  • Build the capacity of national authorities and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS)
  • Develop and maintain professional contacts with local authorities
  • Provide written reporting on weapon contamination (WeC) activities
  • Conduct CBRN (Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) training and activities
  • Represent the ICRC WeC programme in internal and external meetings as required
  • Translate and interpret as necessary to support operations

Requirements

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • University or technical college degree
  • At least 3 years of overall professional working experience
  • Knowledge of Weapon Contamination (WeC), mine action, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Professional fluency in both Ukrainian and Russian
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong teaching, presentation, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with the ICRC or other humanitarian agencies
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and international humanitarian work
  • Academic or professional expertise in a technical WeC-related subject or pedagogics
