About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the centralized governance and management of the Wealth Management technology Book of Work, including funded initiatives and sponsored programs.
- Own the annual and ongoing capital planning process, including allocation strategy, prioritization frameworks, and resource trade-offs.
- Coordinate the prioritization of capital and technology resources to balance strategic initiatives, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.
- Oversee the tracking of ongoing spend against approved capital allocations to ensure transparency in financial performance and delivery progress.
- Partner with Wealth Leadership, Technology, and Finance teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable technology demand and funding plans.
- Identify and escalate risks, dependencies, funding gaps, and execution challenges across the Book of Work to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure all governance and capital allocation processes meet regulatory requirements across U.S., EMEA, and APAC jurisdictions.
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience in capital planning, investment governance, portfolio management, or COO/finance functions within financial services.
- Proven track record in technology Book of Work management or capital allocation, preferably within the wealth management domain.
- Deep expertise in expense management, financial tracking, and resource prioritization.
- Exceptional senior-level negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong understanding of technology development lifecycles and technology portfolio management.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent advanced professional qualification (e.g., MBA).
- Deep knowledge of wealth management operating models and the interplay between business strategy and technology delivery.
- Experience with capital planning at leading wealth management franchises such as Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, or J.P. Morgan.
- Demonstrated experience in driving governance process design and portfolio reporting within complex, matrixed global financial institutions.
