Water Resource Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and assist with the preparation of freshwater resources analyses, reports, designs, and permit applications
• Collaborate with engineers, ecologists, and hydrologists to advance restoration approaches
• Provide mentorship and support for junior staff through work review and career guidance
• Manage project documentation, technical specifications, and construction drawings
• Participate in client and agency meetings and assist with marketing tasks and proposals
• Conduct field data collection and site visits as required

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in water resources engineering
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (Florida PE preferred)
• Experience designing freshwater restoration projects (water control structures, weirs, etc.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar design and mapping software
• Experience with stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, ICPR)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances in outdoor environments
• Valid driver's license with a clean record

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in hydrodynamic and water quality numerical simulation modeling
• High skill level in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with construction observations and surveying
• Knowledge of Florida ecosystems and drainage design for DOT projects
• Certified/Trained Boat Operator
