About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and service specialized equipment including pumps, valves, filters, chemical feed systems, and digesters
- Manage all stages of wastewater treatment, including primary, secondary, advanced, tertiary, disinfection, and cogeneration processes
- Conduct routine sampling, testing, and data collection to monitor water quality and process conditions
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations, equipment status, and maintenance activities
- Assist with training new staff and perform basic grounds maintenance such as mowing and snow removal when required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance OR successful completion of the OTCO Basic Wastewater Operator's course
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio EPA Water Reclamation Operator I license within 24 months of appointment
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Class B commercial driver's license
