Water Reclamation Plant Operator I

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and service specialized equipment including pumps, valves, filters, chemical feed systems, and digesters
• Manage all stages of wastewater treatment, including primary, secondary, advanced, tertiary, disinfection, and cogeneration processes
• Conduct routine sampling, testing, and data collection to monitor water quality and process conditions
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities
• Maintain accurate records of plant operations, equipment status, and maintenance activities
• Assist with training new staff and perform basic grounds maintenance such as mowing and snow removal when required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance OR successful completion of the OTCO Basic Wastewater Operator's course
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio EPA Water Reclamation Operator I license within 24 months of appointment

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Class B commercial driver's license
