Water and Habitat Project Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop project documents including drawings, bills of quantities, and contracts in compliance with ICRC standards and local regulations
• Monitor on-site work, supervise contractors, and ensure quality control through regular inspections
• Gather and analyze technical information to support effective project planning and execution
• Participate in needs assessments, design, and documentation for construction and rehabilitation projects
• Collaborate with the Logistics Unit to create tender documents, specifications, and manage efficient payment processes
• Guide contractors on-site and provide training to end-users on infrastructure operation and maintenance
• Maintain electronic project files and provide regular progress reports to management

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Environmental, Mechanical, or related discipline)
• 3–5 years of professional experience in Water and Habitat (WatHab) activities
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and similar design/drafting software
• Fluency in both English and Ukrainian (written and spoken)
• Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit
• Strong understanding of core engineering and construction principles
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a diverse, multi-cultural team
