Water Aerobics Instructor

Responsibilities

• Provide aerobic instruction and demonstrate proper technique to participants
• Monitor and educate patrons on fitness, safety, and pool regulations
• Adapt exercises to accommodate various fitness levels and special needs
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all patrons
• Understand muscle groups and safe workout practices to ensure participant well-being

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification from a recognized fitness association (e.g., ASFA or AEA)
• Strong working knowledge of swimming rules, regulations, and safety precautions
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the public and coworkers
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification for the professional rescuer
• One year of swimming instruction experience (may be accepted in lieu of certification at the manager's discretion)
