Wastewater Treatment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the wastewater treatment plant and perform laboratory evaluations of samples to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with general maintenance activities
• Safely perform all duties in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
• Troubleshoot processes and respond to operational changes
• Assist with the development of SOPs and ESLPs
• Perform general cleaning of grounds and buildings

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with strong fundamental skills in math, reading, and writing
• Knowledge of chemical safety and understanding of the importance of safety protocols
• Computer literacy and numeric reasoning skills
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in extreme temperature conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience
• Willingness to continue education to become a State Certified Operator
