Wastewater Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate the EMI wastewater treatment facility safely and efficiently during the second shift (4:00 pm – 12:00 am)
• Complete routine daily wastewater analytical tests to guide process control decisions
• Prepare chemical mixes required for the wastewater treatment process
• Monitor chemical, physical/mechanical, and biological parameters of the facility
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and cleaning around the facility
• Work independently while knowing when to contact supervisory staff for guidance
• Maintain responsibility for the facility on weekends and carry a pager while on duty

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass the Wastewater Treatment Operator Math Test
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain an Industrial Wastewater license within one year of employment
• Ability to obtain a forklift license
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
