Wastewater Specialist

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the on-site wastewater pretreatment facility
• Evaluate water and wastewater stream characteristics and monitor treatment processes
• Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses, and interpret results
• Maintain detailed logs and records of system performance and testing results
• Ensure compliance with all wastewater treatment plant permit standards and perform state/local reporting
• Regulate wastewater flow by controlling pumps, valves, blowers, and other equipment
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Manage inventory including chemicals and schedule sludge hauling
• Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs on mechanical equipment and facility grounds
• Assist in implementing water savings and chemical reduction measures

Requirements

• GED or High School Diploma
• 5-7 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Technician in manufacturing
• Valid wastewater certification or license
• Familiarity with biological, chemical, and dissolved air flotation (DAF) processes
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods
