Wastewater Specialist A

Responsibilities

• Evaluate water and wastewater stream characteristics and communicate observations
• Monitor and evaluate the treatment process using chemical and biological science knowledge
• Collect samples, perform laboratory analyses, and interpret results
• Maintain detailed logs and records of system performance and testing results
• Ensure compliance with all WWTP permit standards and perform state/local reporting
• Regulate wastewater flow by controlling pumps, valves, blowers, and other equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on plant equipment
• Establish and maintain working relationships with external agencies and vendors
• Assist in implementing water savings and chemical reduction measures
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure food safety and quality

Requirements

• 3 years of WWTP operations experience
• WWTP operator license/certification
• Prior permit reporting experience
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift/carry heavy loads (up to 75 lbs)
