Wastewater Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate the wastewater separation system at the Hillside facility in compliance with local utility guidelines
• Perform equipment maintenance, including repairs to chemical feed pumps, valves, and general mechanical upkeep
• Conduct water sampling, sludge handling, safety inspections, and chemical transfers
• Manage chemical inventory, administer chemical deliveries, and maintain accurate dosage records
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, food safety, environmental, and GMP regulations
• Monitor and adjust chemical levels for effective process control
• Maintain housekeeping and preventative maintenance for the wastewater facility

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• NJ DEP N-1 license (or the ability to obtain it upon hire)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in wastewater operation or water purification equipment maintenance
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and general PC literacy
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
