Wastewater Operator III

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate plant equipment, pump/booster stations, and instrumentation panels
• Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs
• Collect water, wastewater, and sludge samples for chemical and biological testing
• Conduct laboratory tests including pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, and coliform bacteria
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on lab and field instrumentation
• Calibrate instruments and maintain facility equipment and grounds
• Assist in training new or less experienced personnel

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least five years of experience in a related wastewater or plant environment
• Vocational training and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical data
• Proficiency with computer programs for process control and CMMS
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agency

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial driver's license
• Heavy equipment operator license
• HVAC or Electrician's license
• HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification
• Forklift Certification
