About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor day-to-day plant and pump/booster station operations
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, inspection, and minor repairs (CLAIR) on equipment
- Collect water, wastewater, and sludge samples for testing
- Conduct routine lab tests and instrument calibrations
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs using hand and power tools
- Maintain facility grounds and equipment
- Document observations and work performed in databases and shift logs
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in a related position
- Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical specifications
- Experience with material handling equipment and precision measuring instruments
- Proficiency with power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools
- Basic mathematical and computer skills
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain minimum water/wastewater operator state certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training and mechanical aptitude
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification
- Forklift Certification
