Waste Recycling Officer

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport waste from landside holding areas to the main waste yard
• Sort waste streams to maximise recycling levels and minimise contamination
• Operate waste compactors and baler machinery to produce high-quality bales
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation across waste holding areas and the waste yard
• Complete daily equipment and operational checks
• Load and unload service vehicles safely and efficiently
• Support airport staff with guidance on correct waste segregation and recycling practices
• Carry out waste audits, confiscated waste disposal, and signage replacement

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
• Reliable, proactive, and able to use initiative
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable with manual handling duties
• Flexible approach to ad-hoc tasks
• Previous experience in waste, recycling, logistics, or operational environments is advantageous
